Finial Prototype
1. A change that I made from my paper prototype was that I made my hero out of clay because I thought it would be easier to make Lee stand. Another change I made from my paper prototype was that I added a face to Lee by adding lips, a nose, 2 eyes, and hair in the back of his head. I added a face to my hero because I wanted people to easier to who the person I made from looking at the prototype. By adding the face it also makes my hero more interesting to look at, causing people to look closer at the prototype to see the details. A change I made to the finial prototype was that I added a summary of my hero. The summary of my hero helps people remember Lee if they forgot them. The summary also has the date of when Lee was born and died to help tell people when was his legacy. The last change I added to my prototype was that I added the dragon separate. The dragon took me a longer time to make because I added more detail to it. In the paper prototype I found it hard to add detail while making the dragon go over my hero so I decided to make it separate. In the dragon prototype I added color to make it more interesting to look at.
2. If I had to give myself for feedback, I would make my hero stand up. I had trouble making my hero stand up because the weight of my hero was too heavy that it kept tipping over. Also the shoes were too small to support all the weight of my hero so my shoes would keep sliding. To make my hero stand up I would add supports to balance some of the weight of my hero onto the table. Some feedback that I had from one person was that I should add clothes to my prototype. Another feedback that I got was that I should make the statue of Lee stand up. The third feedback that I got back was to take a plaque to put the summary of the hero on instead of a paper, to make the summary more interesting. The last feedback thatI got was to add more detail in the hair of the statue.
3. If I add one more prototype a change that I would was to change make my statue stand up by adding supports to it. The supports would help some of the statue's weight to go into the ground. With some of the statue's weight going into the ground, the statue would have an easier time to stand up. I could also make the shoes of the statue bigger and flatter so the statue would have an easier time balancing on its shoes. Another change I would add is to make the statue to have more color. With the statue to have more color it could cause the statue to be more interesting, causing more people to look at it. To make the statue have color I could paint the clay after it dried or I could use color clay. With color fly I would use black for the shoes, eyes, and hair, peach for the skin, blue for the pants, and red for the lips and shirt. The last thing I would add was to add more detail to the hair of the statue. Without detail the back of the statue's head looks like a big blob. By adding detail people could tell that on the back of the statue has hair more easily. I would add detail to the statue by putting lines in the clay, to make it look like the hair was layering over itself.

1. Who is your hero?
My hero is a martial arts movie star named Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee got the name "Bruce" at the hospital he was born at, by a nurse.
2. Why did you choose them?
I choose to research Bruce Lee because he is a legend in my house. My dad is a fan of Bruce Lee, having a whole self dedicated for Bruce Lee movies. When I was growing up, my dad has showed me some Bruce Lee movies; my favorite being Enter the Dragon. Another reason why I choose to research Bruce Lee is that action movies are very important to be. My favorite type of movie is action and without Bruce Lee, actions wouldn't be as good in the present. Bruce Lee was in action films, showing off his martial arts moves. Now in actions movies we have fighting scenes all the time to make the film more interesting. Without Bruce Lee, action movies would probably only have people holding weapons and talking; which would be boring. From the time Bruce Lee started coming in action movies, he took action movies to a whole different level.
3. What makes them a hero?
Bruce Lee became a hero when he shattered the difference between American and Asian actors. Bruce Lee was getting bullied in his teen years, learning karate to protect himself. When Bruce Lee was an adult he moved to the US, went to collage, and opened up a studio for him to teach karate to other people. At collage Bruce Lee met Linda and had 2 kids. In the US Lee started to become an actor, being famous for his role as Kato in the tv show called Green Hornet. When Bruce Lee tried out for the main role in a tv series called Kung Fu. The main role for the tv series was given to an American actor because the director thought that Asian actors could draw attention. Lee was mad that he did't get the main role and returned to China, to prove himself worthy of a main role. In China, the movies Bruce Lee stared in got bad reviews in America. Bruce Lee was determined, focusing on his acting and blocking out what other people thought of him. Finially with Lee's main role in the film Enter the Dragon, the border between Americans and Asian actors was broken. Bruce Lee was looked up as a role model inspiring Asian actors like Jackey Chan to become actors.
4. What kind of memorial are you planing on building and why?
I plan on building a statue. The statue will be of Bruce Lee in a karate position since Lee was known for his roles with karate, and that Lee has been doing karate since he was small. Over Bruce Lee will be a dragon to represent the film Enter the Dragon. The film Enter the Dragon is how Lee broke the border of Asian and American actors, time in his life when he became respected and famous; which is a very important event in his life.
5. Describe memorial in detail
Bruce Lee is in a karate position, standing up straight with his body turned slightly to the right. Bruce Lee will be standing on a platform made of granite. The statue itself will be made of granite with the dragon. The platform will have Bruce Lee's name carved in the front and the date of his birth, and death. The platform will only be 1 ft tall with the statue being 6 ft tall. Bruce Lee will have his wavy hair stop right above his back. To represent that Bruce Lee has hair, there will be lines in his hair to represent strands of hair. For Lee's clothes he will only have pants on since in most of his movies he wasn't wearing a shirt. For Bruce Lee's eyes I will have a dot in the middle of them to represent the pupil, with his eyelid covering part of his eye. Over Bruce Lee's eye, he will have an eye brow. Bruce's face will be like a regular face with 2 eyes, hair, 1 mouth, 2 eyebrows, 2 eyelashes, 2 ears, 1 nose, and 1 chin. On top of Bruce Lee is a dragon. The dragon is going around Lee in a circle position. The head of the dragon is on the right, with the tail being on the left. The dragon with have scales all over with the granite going up and down to make the scales. The tail would be bushy, having line on the granite to represent hairs. The dragon will have to sharp pointed smooth horns. On the dragon's head, the mouth will be open, showing two sharp pointed teeth like fangs, on the top part. The dragon will have a small nose, a nostril on each side of the head with two long pieces of hair flowing around the nose. There will be an eye with a dot in the middle to represent the pupil on each side of the dragon. To connect to dragon and Lee I will have 2 supporters at the bottom of the dragon. One supporter will be on the tip of the dragon's tail, going into the left platform; and the other supporter will go on the top part of the dragon's mouth, going into the right side of the platform.

Paper Prototype
1. How does this memorial commemorates your hero?
My prototype commemorates my hero because it reminds people what he was known for. Bruce Lee in my prototype is suppose to be in a karate position to represent that he did karate his whole life. When people see a person my the prototype in a karate position, it's suppose to remind people that Bruce Lee taught many forms of karate to some people's ancestors. On the prototype's face he's suppose to have a determined face. When people look at the prototype's face they are suppose to remember that Bruce Lee observed his students closely and taught them how to correct there mistakes. Another reason why I have a determined face is suppose to show that Lee faced challenges head on. In Lee's teen years he was bullied, but he found a way to step up for himself by learning karate. Lee found a way to protect himself instead of running away. Around the person in my prototype is suppose to be a dragon. The dragon is suppose to represent what movie Lee was most famous for and how he became a hero. Before Bruce Lee's famous movie Enter the Dragon, the movies he stared in got bad reviews. When Enter the Dragon came out people started to respect him. In the past people didn't treat American and Asian actors the same. In Lee's staring in Enter the Dragon, the movie broke box records. From Lee breaking box records Americans stared to believe that Asian actors could attract viewers. After Lee's movie Enter the Dragon, it encouraged other Asian actors to act in movies. When people look at my prototype they are suppose to remember how Lee became a hero.

What are challenges you had in building this? What was easy?
One challenge I had in building a paper prototype is the hands. It was hard for me to make the hands because the hands were so small. Since the hands were small it was hard for me to hold and cut the hands at the same time. Cutting out the hands wasn't even the hardest part. Since the prototype was in 3D, I had to make the hands in 3D. To make objects 3D I would usually make a base and then wrap it with paper. For the hand, I had a hard time in making the base with fingers. I tried to shape the fingers in round shapes but the fingers didn't look round. My hand just looked like a big white blob. I decided that my hand was going the make my prototype worst, so I didn't put the hands on my prototype. I assumed that if I just put arms, people are just going to know that hands are connected to arms, so that at the end of the prototype's arm there is a hand. Another problem I had is balancing my prototype out. My prototype is suppose to be standing. In the end I had to make my prototype lie down because the top was too heavy. My prototype's head was weighing it down because I crumpled a piece of paper, and covered it with another piece of paper to make the head. Every time I tried to make my prototype stand up, the head would tilt forward, causing the whole prototype to collapse. I tried to make the balance even my adding weight to the bottom but the weight was still not balanced out. My bottom was too small to add a whole bunch of weight in. I tried to weigh the bottom down by adding pieces of crumpled paper under it. With more weight at the bottom it took longer for the prototype to fall, but it still fell.
One thing that was easy was the shirt and the pants of the prototype. All I did for the shirt was to create a box. I cut a big piece of paper and folded it into a box. When I folded the paper into the box I had two side missing. With the two side missing I cut off more paper to cover to two sides. For the pants I did the exactly same thing, but once I folded a square, I cut a triangle shape in the middle. The pants and shirt took me little time to make.

Hero Sharing Comments
After looking at the comments, what do you need to add or take out of your final prototype? Why?
One of my comments says that I should add a face. In my next prototype I will add a face. In the prototype that I just made had no face. It was hard to make a face out of paper because paper tries to recoil itself when people crumple it up tight. When I tried to make details for the face like a nose, the paper kept recoiling itself. After a while of trying I decided that the prototype would look good without a face. After looking at the edits and looking at my prototype again, I reliaze that without a face it's hard to tell who the memorial is about. Next time I will have a nose, 2 eyes, 2 ears, and a mouth for my next prototype. For the hair, I will cut little pieces of hair and put it on top of the head of my prototype. By adding details to my prototype it will make it easier for people to easily identify my hero when they walk by it. With features on my person's face they can tell what ethnicity that person is. When I add features to my person's face on my prototype they will know that my person is Chinese.
What is your plan for the final prototype?
For my finial prototype I plan to make my dragon bigger. The dragon will start/end at Bruce Lee's legs. In my finial prototype the dragon will have horns and will be colored red. Once the dragon is colored red I will add circles to make the dragon look like it has scales with sharpie. Bruce Lee would be facing to the right to look like he is preparing for a person to do a karate move on him. Since I didn't have hands on Bruce Lee this time, I plan to put hands on him in the finial prototype. The most important thing i will have for the finial prototype is a bigger bottom, so my statue can stand. With the bottom being bigger the weight will be even with the head and the bottom. With my finial prototype I plan to have a short description about him with the years he was born and died.
What materials will you use?
I plan to use clay because clay is easy to shape. With the clay I will be able to make lines in the person's head to make it look like hair. It will also be easy to make a nose because all I need to do is pinch the clay to make a shape in the clay. Another reason why I'm using clay is that clay can be changed. In paper once your sizing is off, you have to do the whole thing again. In clay you can keep bending things until it is the size you want. To poke holes for the eyes, and carve lines for the hair I will need a pencil. The pencil has a sharp tip that can go into the clay.
